Pipe Department

We are certified to NAVSEA & repairs and manufacturers capable of performing pipe fabrication & installation on all types of systems, a wide variety of pipe systems and SHIP-ALTS for all surface ships. Our approach to customer is commitment to quality, both in products and services; whether it is brazing, open root welds, or socket welds.

Structural Welding & Fabrication

Our certified welders can manufacture and fabricate large ship alts & metal structure to meet any customer needs, thanks to our full service resources of plasma cutting, angle iron and tube rolling. Our extensive knowledge of ship structure, superstructure, and weight requirements ensures your project is in good hands.

HVAC/Sheet Metal

Our sheet metal shop can handle all your fabrication and installation needs including but not limited to: CNC sheer, break, rolling, cutting, bending, thin & thick metal welding. We can handle marine & commercial installation of ventilation systems, false overheads, habitability, galleys, sculleries, heads, berthing & state rooms.

Rigging

We offer qualified rigger and signalperson services, meeting the Occupational and Safety Health Administration (OSHA) and the American National Standard Institute (ANSI) Prerequisites. Our riggers provide a complete construction services project package from feasibility to final inspection. Our team is skilled in full service structural, heavy mechanical, and rigging.

DBP’s electrical department, operating under NAVSEA Standard Items, is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and modernizing electrical and electronic systems on U.S. Navy vessels to ensure operational readiness, safety, and compliance.

Conduct inspections of existing electrical systems, including wiring, connectors, and equipment, to identify faults or degradation

Perform testing of electrical cables, circuits, and systems to verify functionality and compliance with NAVSEA standards (e.g., NAVSEA Standard Item 009-73 for shipboard electrical/electronic cable procedures)

Record inspection data in standardized forms, such as those outlined in NAVSEA Standard Item 009-32 for new and disturbed surfaces, ensuring traceability and compliance.

Standards: Inspections follow guidelines in S9300-A6-GYD-010 (Electrical Workmanship Inspection Guide) and MIL-STD-1310 for grounding and electromagnetic compatibility.

About Diversified Building Professionals (DBP)

Diversified Building Professionals is a minority owned small business founded in February 2020, as a structural and welding provider for the defense industry. Members of Port of San Diego Ship Repair Association, and General Contractor.

DBP brings together a team that combines over 50 years of experience in the ship repair industry. We provide a wide range of vessel repair and support services; from structural repair to custom fabrication.

Renown for our support of ships, our products are built to Navy certifications, and our fully certified welders use NAVSEA and AWS-approved welding procedures both in-shop and on the waterfront.

We understand that your needs require quick and effective solutions, and all of our projects show the great pride we take in the quality of our work and the professionalism of our team.

DBP operates a 3000 sf metalwork fabrication facility and we have the flexibility for graveyard shift. Many of the platforms, foundations, and fixtures we manufacture are among the first installed during the modernization of a ship. If not done correctly, the entire schedule could be delayed. That’s where our quality management system comes in play.
